I am a specialist VAT partner. I joined Blick Rothenberg in June 2006 having worked previously for two major international accountancy firms and HM Customs & Excise.
I specialise in helping my clients to mitigate the impact of VAT by identifying opportunities to make VAT savings, as well as advising them on how to manage business risks and potential exposure to VAT, interest and its associated penalties.
I have particular experience in helping businesses with the VAT implications associated with their property assets, as well as transactions involving EU cross-border and international trade in goods and services.
I have assisted clients with their appeals to Tribunal and provide assistance to the legal profession on VAT cases concerning both civil and criminal prosecutions. I also regularly speak at internal and external seminars on various VAT-related topics.
One of the highlights of my career has been winning a dispute with HM Revenue & Customs which had a significant positive impact on my client – a further education college for whom I saved over £1m in VAT.
I am Welsh born and bred and use my passion for rugby as an excuse to get back to my roots for matches in Cardiff whenever possible.
