US/UK Private Client
Learning how a client works and helping them navigate the intricacies of both the US and UK tax systems are the most fulfilling aspects of my role.
Families, trustees and beneficiaries are the mainstay of clients I service and the opportunities to learn about people, their businesses and family lives is what makes this career so enjoyable. Although I started my career in expatriate tax compliance at PwC, I realised private client tax would be more suited to my skills and I moved firms to take on a private client role dealing with both US and UK cross border issues. Having been at Blick Rothenberg for over 6 years and in the industry for over 10 years, I can honestly say I have found a career that is fulfilling and challenging.
Using this experience allows me to provide trust and estate planning and compliance services, assisting both onshore and offshore trustees, and beneficiaries, in respect of their interests in trusts. That covers both US domestic and non-US trusts. I also provide services to multi-generation families and assist with US estate and UK inheritance tax planning including gifting and settling trusts as appropriate. Having received a plethora of advice and support from the management team here, I can honestly say my career has been full of personal highlights, but the stand-out moment came when I was selected as a ‘Rising Star’ in the 2021 Spears 500. I have a varied portfolio of clients ranging from personal and professional trustees, individuals who are building wealth or who have recently had a liquidity event.
