Harnessing Open Hearts and Minds – A Panel Discussion
Thursday 21 August | 6pm – 8.15pm (BST)

Harnessing Open Hearts and Minds
Join us on Thursday 21 August for a panel discussion on diversity in a cross-cultural environment, in partnership with the JET Alumni Association
Blick Rothenberg and the JET Alumni Association invite you to join us for an evening dedicated to the triumphs and challenges of increasing diversity within a varied cultural environment
We’ve brought together a panel of speakers with a wide range of experiences in both work and culture, with the common thread of being involved in Japan-UK relations, be it through the JET Programme or an established professional relationship.
We’ll explore how established expectations and pre-conceived notions of the status quo are being challenged and upturned in our rapidly evolving socio-political landscape.
UK-Japan relations appear stronger than ever with a strong push for increased trade and financial cooperation evident from both sides.
An intrinsic part of this is the experience and efforts of those involved, so we’ll be drawing directly on the knowledge and understanding of the people who are helping to strengthen the relationship between Japan and the UK.
Your Experts:
- Nimesh Shah, CEO of Blick Rothenberg – Opening remarks
- Bill Emmott, former Editor-in-Chief of the Economist – Moderator
- Jaz Lau, JETAA Chair – Panellist
- Alex Brewer MP, LDP North East Hants – Panellist
- Jo Stobbs, Japan-UK Trade Route Leader – Panellist
After the panel discussion, we invite you to enjoy light bites and refreshments and an opportunity to engage with the speakers and catch up with your fellow JET alumni.
