Blick Rothenberg has been appointed to provide support and advice to the Ruskin Museum which houses Donald Campbell’s legendary hydroplane, Bluebird K7
Blick Rothenberg has been appointed by the trustees of The Coniston Institute and Ruskin Museum to provide support and advice as the charity prepares for a period of significant growth, fuelled by global public interest in Donald Campbell’s iconic hydroplane, Bluebird K7.

Chris Shepherd, Partner explained:
Blick Rothenberg was approached by the trustees of The Coniston Institute and Ruskin Museum to undertake an Independent Examination of the charity’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025. I am pleased to announce that we have accepted the appointment.
He continued:
Our engagement team, who will be preforming the audit of the museum are myself, Senior Manager Dany Cicurel and Manager Alex Mitchley. All of our work for the Ruskin Museum is being performed on a pro-bono basis. The activities of the charity will be growing exponentially given the public interest in Bluebird K7, and Blick Rothenberg is proud to be chosen to support them.
Jim Brown, COO of Blick Rothenberg, highlighted the wider significance of the project:
The Ruskin Museum, the home of the beautifully restored Bluebird, is an outstanding example of an institution rooted in its community. It combines a clear responsibility for highlighting the culture and people that have made Coniston what it is whilst recognising the drive and dynamism that created world leading achievements in the use of technology and personal advancement.
He added:
There are obvious parallels here with all that we are at Blick Rothenberg and the focus we have on continually improving what we’ve already accomplished. It was fascinating to visit earlier this year and it’s a privilege to be associated with both the museum and the exemplar of achievement that is the Bluebird and the story of Malcolm and Donald Campbell.
As part of its commitment, Blick Rothenberg is also sponsoring Bluebird K7’s highly anticipated return to the water in May 2026. This historic moment will see the hydroplane run again on Coniston Water for the first time since the crash in 1967 which claimed the life of its celebrated pilot, Donald Campbell.
David Barzilay, Head of Press and PR underlined the global scale of interest in the project:
Bluebird, and the project to get it back on the water is followed by enthusiasts and media from all over the world.
