We are BR: The graduate point of view

We caught up with the graduate trainees from our Gracechurch Street office to find out how they are settling in after their first month with the firm.

Tom Hutchinson

“From the first interview I could immediately see Blick Rothenberg was a company I really could thrive in. The assessment day overall was a very warm and welcoming experience and has really set the tone for my experience at the company so far.

“Socially, Blick Rothenberg is everything you want as a new starter with regular socials outside the office with both your team and firm as a whole, really allowing you to meet other members of staff on a personal level.”

Everyone is approachable and happy to help; I always feel comfortable asking questions.

Nathan Martin

“From day one, I was partnered with a buddy to help with anything from where to get lunch to inputs on the tax software. This is just one example of the many ways in which graduates are immediately integrated at the firm and helped to settle into the city and the workplace.

“During the short time I’ve been here, I’ve attended several social events and been involved with some company sport where we were networking with another company in the financial industry. The other graduates and I were helped to settle in so quickly and had the opportunity to meet everyone in the office.”

Toby Mulholland

“For me Blick Rothenberg and my team have managed my first few weeks wonderfully, easing me in to the first week of work after training with easier tasks, that everyone was happy to help me with.

“My team gives me the opportunity to work closely with other trainees, seniors, managers and partners. Everyone is approachable and happy to help; I always feel comfortable asking questions. Within my team I immediately felt like I was part of a tight-knit group, as I participated in our virtual hunting social among other events such as lunches and catch-up meetings.”

Jennifer Jiang

“During my first month, I observed the great sense of camaraderie among my new colleagues and received an abundance of support and ongoing mentorship. This has really helped me thrive and I’m excited to tackle all of the challenges that this role offers.”

Alex Rye

“After my initial induction week I have been able to get stuck in to real work pretty much straightaway. This has been good for me as it makes me feel like a valued member of the team.

“I have enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the firm, and I have found everyone to be approachable and friendly. There is no real hierarchy at the firm, so everyone feels welcoming.”
