Global Mobility teams must be ready for stricter immigration and tax policies

However, Governments are facing ever increasing fiscal challenges as well as having to manage domestic political views on immigration levels. They are under pressure to balance the books and increase tax on shorter term residents and those benefiting from expatriate regimes. In addition, regulations continue to become tighter so working across borders continues to become more complex.

The rules will continue to change, whether that’s more sophisticated tracking on who is coming in and out of a country to do business or whether it’s tightening up tax rules such as the non-dom rules in the UK. Every government will want their piece of the pie and supporting our clients to get it right whilst ensuring they can get their talent where it needs to be in the most cost-effective way is absolutely critical.
