“Construction companies are being encouraged to get their cheque books out and invest in plant and machinery by a super tax deduction on the investment in plant and machinery. The industry has been encouraged to embrace modern methods of construction for many years. This huge tax incentive should be grabbed by the industry, enabling the UK to deliver on the major infrastructure projects planned. It is hoped that some of this plant and equipment can be manufactured in the UK.”
£5bn of grants available for retail, hospitality, and leisure, but no equivalent support for those companies who supply these businesses.
