British-German Business Exchange Conference: A new era for bilateral trade

The first annual British-German Business Exchange Conference (BGBEC) will be held today in London, attended by over 80 senior business executives, civil servants, politicians and media representatives from Germany and the UK.

The event is the brainchild of Blick Rothenberg partner and Co-Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG), Alex Altmann, and will be held at the German House in Belgravia Square.

Alex said: “German businesses are concerned that there is still no indication at what the trading relationship with the UK will look like after Brexit. More clarity is urgently needed.”

Over the course of the day there will be presentations on the UK economic outlook, the UK’s immigration policy post-Brexit, as well as an update on the future of the UK’s customs arrangement with the EU from Blick Rothenberg customs duty partner, Simon Sutcliffe.

The event will be followed by an evening reception hosted by the German Ambassador, Dr Peter Wittig.
