Alex Altmann appointed as chair of the BCCG

The BCCG expands its bilateral network and appoints Blick Rothenberg partner, Alex Altmann, as a board member

In its 100th year the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) expands its bilateral network and appoints Blick Rothenberg partner, Alex Altmann, as a board member. Alex will also become Chairman of the North of England and Scottish region.

The announcement was made when the BCCG celebrated in its 100-year anniversary in Berlin at the end of September. The celebrations took place at the British Embassy in Berlin at the invitation by the British Ambassador to Germany, Sir Sebastian Wood KCMG.

Alex’s election came as a result of a move by the BCCG to expand its bilateral network between Germany and the UK further.

The president of the BCCG, Michael Schmidt, said, “Now it is ever more important that the BCCG offers the British-German business community an enhanced platform for exchange and information, in Germany and the UK. We are delighted that we have now also expanded our regional presence with a committee in the North of England and Scotland.”

Alex Altmann said, “I am honoured to be asked helping the Chamber and its members with their bilateral expansion. It is extremely important for local business communities in the UK and Germany to have a platform of exchange and access to critical information.” He added, ‘With Brexit the UK will lose important channels of communication in the EU. It will be the Chamber’s role to provide a platform for continued access to an exchange of views and information to maintain and enhance trade between the UK, Germany and the wider EU market. I look forward to helping the Chamber and its members achieving these objectives.”
