Meeting the needs of a fast-moving entrepreneurial business

We acted for an entrepreneur who establishes multiple family office investments in the property sector.

The challenge

Chris Vane-Tempest, via his company Vane-Tempest Management Limited, is an entrepreneur who establishes multiple family office investments in the property sector. For each transaction, he researches a development site and structures a deal which he proposes to suitable investors from his portfolio of high net worth individuals. He then oversees the projects from acquisition to disposal.

Not wishing to employ someone full-time in a senior finance role, Chris was looking for a firm with deep knowledge of the property sector who could provide the full suite of accountancy services that he needed to support him throughout his multiple projects. He can have up to five investments on the go at any one time and each project takes around 18 months from initial research to disposal. Chris therefore also needed a firm that offers a scalable and flexible service, which could adapt to his needs at any one time.

We provided the full range of accountancy and back office support for each transaction, from VAT registration, CIS registration, corporation tax, year-end accounts and statutory services to outsourced accounting and bookkeeping.

To meet the need of Chris’ investors, we produced a quarterly reporting pack for each of them. We also held board meetings at our offices, giving them transparency over the progress of the project and the status of their investment.
