Shah
 Nilesh Shah is the firm's head of tax with his
specialisation being in the area of corporate tax and VAT, both with an
international basis.
Specifically, he negotiates with the Inland
Revenue and Customs & Excise on behalf of clients, finding fresh solutions
to problems, and directly increasing the profitability of a transaction or the
business itself. He has been involved in taking cases before the Special
Commissioners and VAT tribunals, and won. He also advises clients on
restructuring their businesses as part of a sale or reorganisation.
Nilesh represents Blick Rothenberg on his
regular trips to the USA, Canada and India, and has spoken at professional
conferences on a wide range of topics. He has helped many overseas IT and
e-commerce companies successfully establish operations in the UK, advising on
the correct tax structure as well as commercial considerations.
Nilesh is an Associate of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is also an Associate of the
Institute of Taxation and the Institute of Indirect Taxation. He has appeared
on radio (LBC), television (Sky News) and on the web (accountingweb.co.uk)
as an expert tax commentator.
He was born in 1959, joined Blick
Rothenberg in 1990 and became a partner in 1991. He lives in Buckinghamshire,
and has two children. He enjoys golf, cricket and football. |
