 Partner profiles: Martin
Korn
Martin Korn offers litigation support and forensic
accounting services to lawyers, and consultancy and general advice to his own
business and professional clients.
Martin is actively involved in the overall
management of the Financial Planning department, and acts as a financial
consultant, trustee or executor to a number of family groups. Martin is lead
partner and adviser to many of the firm's clients, co-ordinating
cross-functional teams and ensuring an integrated service.
As an expert for the claimant, Martin
recently achieved the £1m settlement of a fatal accident claim. The
action included prospective loss of growth in the value of a minority
shareholding of a private company. As an advising accountant in a matrimonial
case, he successfully proved a loss-making business was in fact making
substantial profits. On the commercial side, he is proud to have worked with
one particular client, from his days as an audit junior, all the way up to
senior partner - and has shared that client's rise from difficult times to its
present financial success.
Martin is a Fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is also a member of the
Academy of Experts and a member of the Expert Witness Institute. He regularly
contributes to trade and national press on financial planning issues, including
Investors Chronicle, Independent on Sunday, and Financial
Times. He recently worked with Debbie Harrison in the production of the 3rd
issue of Pension Power for the Financial Times.
Martin was born in 1945, and became a
partner in the firm in 1971. He is married with three grown-up children and
lives in Middlesex. He is actively involved in his community, putting his
skills to use as treasurer and trustee for charities supporting school and
university students, and for a housing society for the elderly. His wife,
Beverley, works closely with him on much of his voluntary work. Martin enjoys
theatre, and swims regularly. |
