 Partner profiles: John
Newman
 John Newman ensures that clients receive a
technically excellent financial reporting and audit assurance service.
He is the firm's technical partner and
spends much of his time making sure the firm keeps up-to-date with the latest
financial reporting standards, companies legislation and auditing standards. He
acts as in-house consultant to the firm's other partners and senior audit staff
on complex accounting and auditing issues. He also manages the company
registrar department and undertakes litigation support work.
John was born in 1948 and became a partner
in the firm in 1982. He holds an economics degree and is a Fellow of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is joint author of
Understanding Company Accounts, now in its fourth edition.
Over the years, John has been responsible
for recruitment and training within the firm and was the first editor of our
Business Review newsletter for clients.
In his free time, John enjoys performances
by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the London Symphony Orchestra, and
regularly attends the National Theatre. |
