 Partner profiles: Alan
Pearce
Alan is a specialist VAT Partner. He joined Blick
Rothenberg in 2006 having previously worked for two major international
accountancy firms for the preceding 16 years. Prior to that, he was a senior
officer with HM Customs & Excise having worked for the Department for
almost 11 years.
Alan has considerable experience of
assisting a wide range of clients in the commercial, charitable and private
sector, ranging from large multinational groups, owner managed businesses and
not-for-profit organisations.
A large proportion of Alan's time is spent
on dealing with the VAT implications arising from clients' property related
matters and other transactions involving business mergers, acquisitions and
reorganisations. In a complex area of tax law he provides benefit to clients by
ensuring savings opportunities are identified so that the impact of VAT is
mitigated, as well as managing the business risks and potential exposure to
VAT, interest and penalties.
Alan has also represented clients at VAT
Tribunals and provided assistance to the legal profession on VAT cases
concerning both civil and criminal prosecutions.
Born in Wales in 1960, Alan has recently
relocated from Brighton to Clapham, South London. His main interests outside
work include rugby (returning to Cardiff whenever possible to watch his country
play) and musical theatre in London's West End. |
