Toby specialises in corporate tax, particularly transactional work covering restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, property transactions and transfer pricing. Given the nature of Blick Rothenberg’s client base, much of this work involves cross border issues.
He joined Blick Rothenberg in April 2007. Prior to that, he had been in a corporate tax advisory role with a Big 4 firm in Central London with experience of providing high-level corporate tax advice to substantial corporate groups.
Recent advisory projects at Blick Rothenberg have included the following:
- Establishing an offshore ownership structure for undertaking a £175 million property development project in Central London.
- Purchaser tax due diligence for the £20 million acquisition of a UK trading group with overseas branch operations.
- Preparation of a Europe wide transfer pricing report for a client with intercompany transactions between group companies in a number of European territories.
- Commercial and tax advice for a management buyout of parts of the trade of a listed electronics manufacturer with operations in the UK and Far East.
In addition to tax advisory work, Toby oversees a portfolio of corporation tax compliance clients concentrating on those with complex tax affairs and overseas connections.
Toby is married with two young sons, and lives in Beckenham, Kent. His interests include scuba diving around the UK coast and abroad, skiing and spending time with his family.
