Following the announcement of the Chancellor's Autumn Statement, Blick Rothenberg partners commented on some of the key messages. Head of tax, Nilesh Shah, said: “The Chancellor’s Autumn Statement was as much political as it was fiscal. A lot of numbers and growth forecasts have gone up but we still have a long way to go. The CGT on non-resident landlords was not a surprise, but one needs to see the detail to understand if this applies to existing or future gains. Small tax and fuel duty breaks will assist some families. Even small amounts help, but we still do not have the level of economic growth to afford anything more.”
